Who are we?
The neighborhood union Johannesplatz Solidarisch is an independent social and political organization committed to good living conditions and fundamental social change.
Here we come together, get to know each other, unite, and learn together to stand up for our rights. People affected by the consequences of capitalism can organize themselves and initiate change.
We want to create a place where we can solve concrete, existential problems in the short term and, in the long term, fight together for social change. We offer regular counseling to support people with questions and problems, whether with the Jobcenter, your landlord, or issues concerning asylum and residency. Our strength lies in mutual solidarity. This means that if a member of the neighborhood union experiences exploitation or oppression, we all help and fight together. Through collective organization, we are stronger and can better enforce demands against landlords, authorities, companies, etc..
In addition to providing concrete help, we promote social encounters and political education. At social and political events, we strengthen cohesion and our shared perspective. Openness, respect, and equality are central – regardless of origin, gender, body, sexuality, or religion.
With us, there are no bosses; instead, we all decide together as equals. Every voice counts, every contribution is important. Unlike state institutions, we want to manage ourselves and make grassroots democratic decisions.
Although we address our concrete problems, our goal is to eliminate their causes. We therefore work towards building a more just and solidaristic society.
