On July 20, the official opening of the neighborhood union “Johannesplatz Solidarisch” took place. With great anticipation for the opening of our premises and curiosity about the neighborhood, the final touches were made on Sunday—decorations were crafted, furniture was moved, and a children’s play area was set up—to make the store especially beautiful for the opening.
At 3 p.m., we kicked things off with coffee, lemonade, and a colorful selection of cakes. With cheese and chocolate cake on their plates, the first interested and lively conversations were already taking place.
A colorful program was also provided. In addition to snacks and refreshments, there was also live music. The Kater Kombo enchanted the crowd with relaxed guitar sounds.
For the little ones among us, there was a colorful craft corner with giant soap bubbles, glitter tattoos, sidewalk chalk, and face paint.
After cake, there were also many savory snacks, which we enjoyed together while getting to know each other better. Wishes and suggestions for the district and for the premises of the district union that came up in the conversations were recorded directly on a large piece of paper—hopefully, they will be implemented very soon!
Thanks to everyone who made the opening so wonderful! From now on, solidarity counseling will be available every Tuesday and Thursday. In addition, the open meeting will take place weekly on Fridays from 3 to 6 p.m.
